Students to create an app to turn sign language to text

A team of three computer science students has come up with an application to overcome one of the biggest hurdles that deaf and blind face by communicating with people who don’t know the sign language. The application can translate the hand motions of sign language into written texts.

The three students; Sulaiman Shloudi, Tala Abdel Halim and Muhammad Shabaneh were supervised by Iyad Jaber, a professor at the Department of Computer Science. The students said that the application can automatically analyze images and video, in different backgrounds and lights.
