Qatari Committee donates JD 100,000 to support Jerusalemite students
Birzeit University President Abdullatif Abuhijleh and the secretary of the Qatari Committee Bilal Natsheh signed an agreement to provide 100,000 Jordanian Dinars in financial aid and scholarships to students from Jerusalem who are studying at Birzeit University.
Abuhijleh asserted the university’s commitment to bridging social and educational gaps among students while cultivating educational and moral excellence. The university, said Abuhijleh, has taken on the responsibility of supporting Jerusalemite students, especially those who face great challenges that threaten their national identity and their basic rights. He pointed to the special programs offered by the university to provide inclusive, quality education for all.
Natsheh affirmed that the committee put the Jerusalem at the top of its priorities. He said that this agreement is an example of the committee’s commitment to providing financial aid to Jerusalemite students and empowering them academically and culturally.
The Permanent Qatari Committee to Support Jerusalem is a long-standing supporter to Birzeit University. In the 2017-2018 academic year, it donated 60,000 Jordanian Dinars in scholarships and financial aid to Jerusalemite students.
