Public administration students meet learn about National School of Administration

Students at Birzeit University’s Department of Public Administration were introduced to the work of the National School of Administration in Palestine, affiliated with the State of Palestine General Personnel Council, on October 20, 2019. Organized by the department, the introductory meeting highlighted the school’s supervisory and administrative roles.

Sixty students, currently enrolled in the Administrative Audit and Control course taught by assistant professor Ismail Iriqat, attended the meeting along with Musa Abu Zaid, Chairman of the General Personnel Council, and Nisreen Zughar, the head of the National School of Administration.

Abu Zaid affirmed the council’s willingness to enhance cooperation with the higher education system to improve the students’ competencies and enable them to become future leaders in their chosen specialization. He explained the work of the school, that was built and developed by Palestinians, as aiming to improve the performance of public sector employees and to hone their business and entrepreneurial skills.

Iriqat emphasized the importance of implementing the concepts and methodologies behind audit and control procedures, pronouncing such expertise as core pillars for the success of any organization.
