Political Science Department Helps Prepare Jordan Workshop

Represented by professors Ghada Almadbouh and Lourd Habash, Birzeit University’s Political Science Department at the Faculty of Law and Public Administration participated along with political science faculty from US universities in preparing for a specialized workshop on the events and developments in the Arab world that led to revolutions and transformations in the political systems.

The workshop was held on May 11-16, 2014 in Amman, Jordan, and was attended by Professor Habash. The next workshop will be held in September in Beirut, Lebanon.

The workshop was attended by 20 participants from Arab and foreign countries, all of them PhD and Master's degree holders. International Studies Program student Hiba Saida was selected to participate in the workshop and present her research project on the status of Syrian refugees in Jordan.

The workshop was organized by the Birzeit University Political Science Department at the Faculty of Law and Public Administration, in cooperation with the American Association of Political Science in the US, and the Palestinian American Research Center.
