Paltel Group to award PhD Scholarships to BZU faculty

October 17, Birzeit University, represented by its President Abdullatif Abuhijleh, and Paltel Group, represented by its CEO Ammar Aker, renewed their partnership to offer grants for Birzeit's faculty members who seek their doctoral degrees from renowned international universities, and to support the university's annual activities.

Paltel Group will grant scholarships for Birzeit University's faculty members through the program "Efad," which first started in 2012. This initiative aims to promote excellence in academia and research, and encourage Birzeit's faculty members to pursue education in priority disciplines.

“We are harvesting the fruits of our continuous efforts," he added. "Birzeit University has proved its excellence in international rankings. It has clinched the 38th position in the QS University ranking of the top 100 universities in the Arab region, and it broke into the QS World Rankings, ranked among the 3% of the best universities in the world.”

Abuhijleh praised Paltel Group’s efforts in supporting the academic sector in Palestine. “The Group’s mission aligns with our belief that education must result in skills that allow individuals to contribute to sustainable development of the country. Higher education bears fruit far beyond the educational system; it serves as a center of knowledge for the entire community."

In turn, Aker noted that Paltel Group allocates its services and resources to support education in Palestine, targeting both students and academics. "Our strategy creates opportunities for youth that will equip them with knowledge, and broaden more horizons for them to achieve their ambitions."

"Our longstanding relationship with Birzeit University does not start with this agreement," Aker pointed out. "We have supported BZU's annual activities such as the Career Days, New Student Welcoming Days, Birzeit Nights Festivals, and many other activities," Aker concluded.
