Palestinian representatives hone public speaking skills in media center course

Twenty-six members of Palestine’s international agreements team learned new media and spokesperson skills in a course led by experts from Birzeit University’s Media Development Center.

Officials from the labor, culture, justice, and telecommunication ministries - and other Palestinian public agencies - were trained on speaking at public events, holding conferences, and presenting clear messages in interviews in the three-day course, led by Emad Alasfar and Nibal Thawabteh.

Daoud Al Deek, deputy minister at the Ministry of Social Development, highlighted the benefits of the course in strengthening the Palestinian narrative in international circles, saying, “It is vital to develop the skills of employees, especially those who represent Palestine in international forums.”

Ruba Kaileh, the course coordinator, said the “Media Spokesperson” course was the second and final in a series of training sessions held by the Media Development Center following a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Social Development signed in June.

The Media Development Center holds training courses in various media disciplines for students, public- and private-sector employees, and media experts. The courses are funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency.
