Palestinian Ambassador to Portugal, Dr. Mufeed Al-Shami, Visits BZU - News

The Palestinian Ambassador to Portugal, Dr. Mufeed al-Shami visited BZU on 1
August 2011, meeting with BZU President, Dr. Khalil Hindi. The two parties
discussed prospects for cooperation between BZU and Portuguese universities.

Dr. Hindi briefed the Ambassador on the various disciplines and academic
programs offered by the University, stressing BZU’s concern with developing a
philosophy of modern education. Dr. Shami called for cooperation and
communication between BZU and Portuguese universities, especially with the
University of Lisbon, where such cooperation would contribute to the
establishment of cultural and academic bridges that might benefit Palestinian
society, in terms of sustainable development and students’ research capacity.

As the meeting concluded, Dr. Hindi expressed his wish that this visit would
be the first step towards greater cooperation with Portuguese universities.
