Nurses, academics explore ethics and challenges of nursing research in faculty workshop

Nurses, midwives, and nursing directors discussed academic research in the field in a workshop organized by Birzeit University’s Department of Nursing together with the Palestinian Ministry of Health.

Led by Department of Nursing assistant professor Dr. Mutaz Dredei, associate professor Dr. Sahar Hassan and lecturer Omar Almahmoud, the workshop featured an introduction on the importance of research in the field of nursing and a discussion about the methodologies, ethics, limitations and process of conducting research in this field.

Representing the Ministry of Health, Qussai Asba and Ayman Inaya emphasized the importance of workshops that aim to equip nurses with the knowledge and skills to improve their professions and advance the field through continued research and innovation.

The Department of Nursing is one of the three departments comprising the Faculty of Pharmacy, Nursing and Health Professions. The department offers a bachelor’s degree program in nursing and a master’s program in oncology nursing, with simulation labs that ensure students graduate with the skill set and knowledge to excel in and lead patient-oriented healthcare in the future.
