Media Development Center Invites AREACORE Membership

On May 6, 2014, the Birzeit University Media Development Center called on professors and researchers of media and communication in the Palestinian territories to join the Arab European Association for Communication and Media Researchers (AREACORE), based in Berlin.

The center was a founding party in AREACORE along with more than six Arab universities in Tunisia, Egypt, Lebanon, Yemen, Qatar, Oman and the Institute of Media and Communication at the Open University in Berlin. The center’s invitation to promote membership in AREACORE is mainly to activate Palestinian media research in the Arab and European forums, open communication channels between local researchers and their counterparts in the world, and participate in new media research developments.

AREACORE was founded on July 6, 2013 at the end of a workshop hosted by the Free University of Berlin in cooperation with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

The goal of AREACORE is to strengthen and expand horizons among Arab and European professors in the field of communication. AREACORE will also organize conferences and research-related activities, as well as participate in the dissemination of research studies, exchange experiences, and training.

The media center is hoping for active Palestinian participation in AREACORE, and the invitation is open to all teachers and researchers in the West Bank, Gaza Strip, Israel and the Diaspora to complete the membership form, which is available at the following link:http://www.areacore.org/application-form.html.
