University of Barcelona professors discuss EU law, environmental economics in visit to campus

As part of the Erasmus+ exchange program, two professors from the University of Barcelona led lectures for undergraduates and postgraduates and held discussions on law and economics with faculty and staff members in a four-day visit to Birzeit University.

Milagros Verdugo, a professor of international and European Union law gave two lectures: one on the EU’s laws, institutions, and foreign policy, and the other on energy and international law. Germà Bel, a professor of economics, similarly, led two lectures: one on the relationship between economics and the environment, and the other on public policy and the environment.

During their visit, the professors met with Amir Khalil, the external academic relations officer; Samia Al-Botmeh, dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics; Hala Shoaibi, chair of the Department of Law; and Mohanad Ismael, chair of the Department of Economics. In their meetings, the group discussed expanding channels of cooperation between Birzeit University and the University of Barcelona.
