Lecture delves into role of Palestinian civil society institutions

Public administration students discussed the relationship between civil society institution and the government in Palestine in a lecture given by Majid Al Arouri, a civil society expert,  on May 18, 2019.

In this lecture, organized by the Department of Public Administration, Al Arouri and the students discussed the role of civil society organizations in holding government officials and institutions accountable and their position as links between the society and the government that push forward the democratic process.

This lecture follows a discussion led by Firas Jaber, a senior researcher at the Social and Economic Policies Monitor (Al-Marsad), on May 6, 2019, on the history and responsibilities of civil society institutions in Palestine.

This lecture is the latest effort by the Department of Public Administration to build bridges and establish channels of communication between students and decision-makers, giving students the space to explore topics with relevant experts and authorities.
