Leadership Training Program for Excellence in Sports Offered in Center of Continuing Education

Innovative, visionary and effective policy ideas  on constructing a better leadership in the sports sector in Palestine were addressed  in a training  organized recently by the Center of Continuing  Education in Birzeit University and the Palestinian Football Association.Prominent specialist, General Secretary of the  Confederation of African Football Hicham El Amrani and  Consultant and Practitioner on Leadership and Advocacy for Social Change Amel Maaouia will offer their experiences and knowledge throughout the training program.This training is part of the Sports Management Program organized by the Center of Continuing Education for six years in a row, in partnership of the International Center for Sports Studies (CIES)- a center that  provides a research, top-level education and consulting services to the sports world with the aim of overcoming the complexities of sport in today's society and improving how it is governed and managed across all sports."We passionately believe in the power of leadership and lead our programs with energy and enthusiasm, bringing the most distinguished specialists in the field of sports to exchange expertise and learn from others knowledge”, CIES Sports Management Program Coordinator Rania Al-Qassem said.El Amrani talked about the increasing recognition of the importance of sports by governments, businesses and communities. “ Sports is the only language understood by everyone. We believe that sports bring all people together, therefore we seek  to take part in development programs in all over the world to maximize the positive impact and provide localized and tailor-made solutions to improves sports in all countries.”Maaouia said  that “ Through such workshops, we look forward to equipping athletes with employability skills for life improving motivation, self-esteem, communication, team work and confidence.”
