Languages lecturer contributes to Unlock Second Edition for teaching English

Adnan Abu Ayyash, a lecturer of English and the acting chairperson of the Department of Languages and Translation at Birzeit University, has participated in the development of Unlock Second Edition Student’s Books issued by Cambridge University Press. Abu Ayyash is a member of the Unlock Advisory Panel and his name has been acknowledged at the new edition, which was officially published on 24 January 2019. His name appears on the last page of each Student’s Book in recognition of his valuable feedback in shaping this new edition of the course.

Birzeit University launched the new English language education program for its undergraduate students starting the academic year 2016/2017. The new curriculum is aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) in its learner-driven philosophy and it describes six levels of language attainment starting from level A1 at the basic user level to level C2 at the proficient user level of English language competence. Unlock Second Edition is a six-level academic English course that offers a fresh approach to critical thinking skills and enables learners to develop the academic skills and language that will lead them to success in their studies.

Cambridge University Press has recognized the contribution of Abu Ayyash and his input into the development of the new edition.
