International, Local Lecturers Lead Strategic Communication Course

On November 8, 2014, the Ibrahim Abu-Lughod Institute of International Studies at Birzeit University concluded a training course in strategic communication. The course included a number of lectures and practical exercises related to the importance of strategic communication, the role of body language, how to build a newsletter and deliver it to the public, how to establish a news agency, the importance of social media and scene writing.

The lectures were delivered by local and international speakers, experts and academics, and covered 40 credit hours starting from September 20, 2014. The course is the introductory course for a specialized diploma in strategic communication to be offered by the institute and that is aimed at capacity-building of public and private sector employees. This course is the fruit of cooperation between the institute, the Government Media Center, the British Council and the British team in support of Palestine.

The partnership with the British Council is part of the Internationalization of Higher Education project, implemented by the British Council in Palestine, that links individuals and institutions of higher education in Palestine with their counterparts in the United Kingdom in areas of education policies and capacity building, while creating relationships, exchanges and conferences.
