Information Session introduces Erasmus+ Scholarships

The Office of External Academic Relations at Birzeit University organized an information session for bachelor’s and master’s students on the Erasmus+ scholarship, on Saturday, September 15, 2018. Led by External Academic Relations Officer Dr. Amir Khalil, the session introduced students to the program and to the numerous mobility and exchange opportunities that it offers.

The session began with a brief overview of the Erasmus+ program, which offers students and faculty members the chance to partake in exchange programs between Birzeit University and various EU and non-EU countries such as Austria, Norway, Ireland, Spain, Estonia, Germany, and the UK.

Benefitting the students not only academically, the program also broadens their cultural horizons and provides them with a global perspective. "The program",  noted Khalil, “is a great chance, providing participants the experience of a new environment and a different atmosphere.”

Khalil went through the application process step-by-step, explaining the paperwork needed and particularly emphasizing the course equation procedure, saying: “We want students to travel and enjoy their time, but also to study and improve academically.”

He also discussed the application process and the Erasmus+ program structure, fully detailing the projected goals and aims, and making a great point of the new skills and concepts that the program instills in its participants.

Erasmus+ alumni shared their experiences with the attendees. The session ended with a Q&A session, with Khalil and answering the attendees’ questions on the application process, the available fields of study and courses offered, and the partner universities enrolled in the program, among other topics.
