Health Professions Students to Train at German Hospitals

The groundwork for training Pharmacy, Nursing and Health Professions students at German hospitals was cemented in an agreement signed between Birzeit University and the Union of Palestinian Doctors and Pharmacists in Germany on March 4, 2016.

Students will take part in the union’s initiative to expose students in Palestinian universities and professional pharmacists, nurses, and physicians to a multidisciplinary and interprofessional environment incorporating international experts.

Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Nursing and Health Professions Munir Qazzaz and the union’s representative in Palestine, Muhannad Nasif, signed the agreement in the presence of the students selected to train in Germany.

“Since its inception, the faculty has been building the infrastructure for leadership in the healthcare field, and is poised to continue this success in the future. This new academic exchange program is a step towards advancing our mission and facilitating productive collaboration and traineeships involving pharmacists, nurses and other health profession students,” Qazzaz said.

Nasif commented that this contribution is in line with the foundations of educational and medical initiatives the union is striving to provide to students and medical staff in Palestine. “We are keen on bringing new and unique opportunities to students to leverage their skills as leaders in the practice of health and medicine. It’s our national and patriotic duty to contribute to developing medical and health care skills among young physicians.”
