Guest Lecturer Addresses Power Electronics, Renewable Energy

Engineer Mohammad Ibrahim gave a lecture sponsored by the Birzeit University Electrical Engineering Department on “Advanced topics in power electronics and renewable energy” on March 19, 2014.

Ibrahim addressed the following in this lecture: the integration of power electronics,
multilevel converters, switched reluctance motors, active EM shielding, piezoelectric, cables faults, and renewable energy (photovoltaic and thin films).

Mohammad Ibrahim was born on June 11, 1985 in Ramallah, Palestine. He received his B.Sc in Electrical Engineering (Power & Control, Communication) from Birzeit University in 2003. Ibrahim pursued his Master’s degree in 2R PIE (Physique et Ingénierie de l'Energie) at ENS Cachan with University Paris Sud in 2011. He is currently working on his PhD degree in electrical engineering at Laboratoire de Génie Electrique de Paris (LGEP), SUPELEC, France. His research interests are in electromagnetic modeling, EMC/EMI, resonant converters and inductive charging.
