Grants Committee Reviews Needy Freshmen Students’ Aid Eligibility

In the process of implementing an agreement signed with the Ministry of Social Affairs last June, Birzeit University’s grants and financial aid committee conducted a field survey of the needy freshmen students admitted for the first semester of the 2014/2015 school year who have applied for financial aid. The number of applications is 449, out of which the university reviewed 317 needy students for eligibility. The rest of the applications will be reviewed by the ministry.

Through this arrangement, the university seeks to build a partnership with the Ministry of Social Affairs to help needy students, and thus promote its pioneering role in Palestinian community service and development.

Dean of Student Affairs Mohammad al-Ahmad indicated out that the university has been implementing the social survey system for three years, and the committee will continue receiving applications from needy freshmen students until the deadline of September 15, 2014.
