French Students Film ‘Best Documentary’
Birzeit University Students were awarded first and second place in a March 24, 2016 documentary competition organized by the French Department and French Consulate General in Jerusalem.
Students from Al-Najah University won third prize in the competition.
The winners were announced in a film-screening ceremony that showcased the students’ productions created in a workshop entitled “Tell me a story, a story of reality” facilitated by French journalist Sophie Vernet. The workshop was designed to encourage French students at Birzeit and Al-Najah universities to write short documentaries.
The awards ceremony was attended by the French Department chair Wasim Bishawi, Educational Cooperation Attaché at the French Consulate Marie-Claude Messager and a number of professors from the French Department at Birzeit and Al-Najah University.
