“FADA” tops local repositories, ranks 15 among Arabs in Web Repository Ranking
Birzeit University Open Access Repository “FADA” topped local university, and was ranked 15th among Arabs in the “Ranking Web of Repositories” issued by “Webometrics Ranking of World Universities”. Globally, the university’s rank was 1425.
“FADA” is an online archive to host, collect, preserve and disseminate the intellectual digital output created, collected and published by the institution, its Institutes and Centers, Faculty members, Researchers, and Students. The online platform, launched last year, at increasing the visibility of the university and its scholars at a wider level by providing a platform for saving, discovering and sharing materials produced by Birzeit University and its community from a free and persistent point of access.
The main goal of the Ranking Web of Repositories is to promote Open Access initiatives and global access to academic knowledge.
