Faculty members visit, lecture at Belgium universities

Amir Khalil, Birzeit University’s director of the External Academic Relations Office, and Mohammed Alqaisi, the director of the master’s programs in Law and in Law and Economics, visited and lectured at three Belgium universities, namely Universiteit Ghent, Vrije Universiteit, and Université Libre de  Bruxelles in Brussels.

Khalil gave lectures on the economic ties between the European Union and Palestine, emphasizing their importance, the challenges they must overcome, and possibilities for enhancement and expansion. Al-Qaisi explored the possibility of implementing the European Union Competition Law in Palestine. Both faculty members gave a joint lecture about the legal system in Palestine.

Furthermore, Khalil and Alqaisi met with Birzeit University students who are currently studying at Université Libre through an Erasmus+ exchange program. They also met with academics and representatives of external academic relations, discussing prospects of cooperation in the fields of law, languages, archaeologyand political science.
