Faculty of Business and Economics 4th Annual Open Day

The Birzeit University Faculty of Business and Economics organized on May 24, 2014 its Fourth Annual Open Day, sponsored by the Bank of Palestine and the Palestinian Education forEmployment Foundation.

The day of activities was intended to nurture community development and help preserve the environment, health and sustainability.

Dean Mohamed Nasr gave a briefing on the faculty’s facilities and departments. "The faculty is proud to attract the best students every year and provide them with the top skills required to work in the public and private sector," he said.

Nasr pointed out that this open day’s message is to sustain communication and cooperation with the local community and its institutions. He also talked about the faculty’s ongoing development in courses and programs, announcing new majors in insurance, banking and finance.

Foundation board member Sabri Saydam also spoke, explaining that the foundation seeks to study Palestinian labor market needs and offer training programs to meet those needs.

Bank of Palestine public relations director Thaer Hamayel told attendees, “The bank’s sponsorship seeks to support students' creativity and aspirations. This stems out of our belief in responsibility towards Palestinian society, and our students.”

The open day featured art performances and entertainment, accompanied by competitions, prizes and many surprises. Performers offered Palestinian dabka and songs, yoga, circus programs, and children's theatre.
