E-Learning Workshop Reviews Birzeit University Experience

The Birzeit University Faculty of Graduate Studies organized on December 6, 2014 a workshop for faculty and students on “E-Learning as a Supportive Tool in Higher Education.”

Vice President for Academic Affairs Henry Giacaman opened the event emphasizing the need to benefit from technical and electronic competencies as part of the educational and research fabric, in response to the university’s mission and objectives. Giacaman asserted that the university pays a great deal of attention to e-learning and calls upon all of its research and academic staff to benefit from electronic information sources.

The workshop was held in two sessions: the first included an introduction to e-learning, its strategies and models, and ways to incorporate e-learning within traditional universities. The second session addressed the university’s e-learning experience and compared Moodle and Web 2.0 Techniques.
