Dr. Anwar Abdel Razeq Publishes Two Papers in “Encyclopedia of Education Oxford Research”

The Dean of the Faculty of Education at Birzeit University, Dr. Anwar Abdel-Razek, recently published two academic papers in the Encyclopedia of Education Oxford Research in collaboration with two American researchers:

Dr. Shelley Wong- George Mason University

Dr. Anita Bright- Portland State University

The first paper is titled:

The Palestinian K-12 Education system: History, Structure, Challenges and Opportunities

The research specifically discusses the impact of the Israeli occupation on education in Palestine and proposes some recommendations for the improvement and advancement of Palestinian education, focusing on curriculum, teaching, assessment, and qualification of teachers and educational leaders.

The second paper is titled:

History and Impact of Israeli Siege and Attacks on Education on Gaza, Palestine

The research addressed the impact of the Israeli blockade and wars on education in Gaza. The aim of the research is to share with the local and international community what the education system in Gaza suffers from and what needs to be done to improve education in all aspects.
