Dr. Amal Nazzal Publishes Academic Scientific Research in the International Peer-Reviewed Journal "International Journal of Communication - IJoC”.

Dr. Amal Nazzal, an assistant professor at the Business and Economics Faculty and the director of the Supply Chain Management Master program at Birzeit University, publishes a distinguished research paper in the international peer-reviewed journal "International Journal of Communication - IJoC”.

IJoC is a well-established peer-reviewed academic journal with an impact factor of 1.6, an H-Index of 61, and an SJR2023 rank of 0.72, according to the SCImago Journal Rank (SJR) indicator.

Inspired by Goffman’s theoretical framework of the formation of social selves and the notion of impression management of ‘self-presentation’, this research intends to better understand how junior employees manage their online impressions and ‘professionalize’ their social media content for different work-related reasons and how their digital personal identity intersects with their professional identity. This research extends and deepens our understanding of Goffman’s framework of how online impression management techniques are employed, either willingly or unwillingly, to construct our online professional identity.

Dr. Nazzal maintained that conducting this research was tiring and challenging, yet enjoyable and enriching. She thanked the Graduate Studies and Research faculty as this published research was supported by the Scientific Research Committee at Birzeit University, Palestine.

Dr. Nazzal dedicated this research to the distinguished BZU student who passed away in June of this year and who was one of the participants in this research; the inspiring Palestinian entrepreneur Anas Dalou.
