A new agreement will provide additional support for needy students and prospective development projects at Birzeit University.

On January 4, 2014, Birzeit University President Khalil Hindi signed a joint cooperation agreement with Al-Zaytoonah Society for Youth Development, represented by its president, Malek Tayyem. The agreement aims to provide support and assistance to students and develop teaching staff.

Both parties agreed to coordinate to serve the student sector and cooperate in providing support for scientific research.

The agreement stipulates that Zaytoonah Society for Youth Development will assist in covering the tuition fees of needy and outstanding students and establish an electronic library at Birzeit University. Moreover, Zaytoonah Society is prepared to support development projects proposed by the university, in addition to support student travel abroad as they study for their doctorate or master's degrees.
