College of Europe ambassador in Palestine details program, scholarship opportunities

Alaa Jadallah, the College of Europe ambassador in Palestine, gave a workshop on the scholarships available for Palestinians to study at the university - considered one of the most prestigious in Europe - on Thursday, November 8, 2018.

Organized by the Office of External Academic Relations at Birzeit University, the workshop detailed the programs and scholarships offered by the College of Europe, such as European Interdisciplinary Studies, European Economic Studies, EU International Relations and Diplomacy Studies, European Legal Studies, European Political and Governance Studies, and Master of Arts in Transatlantic Affairs.

This is a full scholarship offered by the College of Europe, said Jadallah. Full tuition costs are paid for by the scholarship, as well as food, accommodation, and flights from and to the university, she noted, adding that the university is funded by the European Commission.

A degree from such a well-known, highly-ranked institution opens a lot of doors, Jadallah remarked, noting that most students go on to internships in the European Parliament, the European Commission, and the European Council after graduation.

The College of Europe is one of the leading institutes of higher education in Europe. Founded in 1949, it counts among its alumni prominent European politicians such as former Prime Minister of Denmark Helle Thorning-Schmidt, former British Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, and former Minister for Europe of Italy Enzo Moavero Milanesi.
