Challenges of External Audit Discussed at Symposium

The Birzeit University Accounting Department at the Faculty of Business and Economics held on December 1, 2014 a symposium entitled, "External Audit: Between Reality and Challenges."

A representative of accounting firm Deloitte, Munther Bandak, spoke at the event, seeking to link theory with practice by giving real life examples of the reality of daily work, thereby defining audit and auditing procedures. Bandak talked about the types of audit and its five stages, pointing to the most important challenges facing the auditor, particularly technological and administrative difficulties, as well as delivery times pressures.

Deloitte Assistant Director Miltadi Habash spoke about ways to take advantage of employment in a highly respected company like Deloitte through professional capacity building, training in report writing, assessing financial statements and having the ability to overcome difficulties and deal with work pressure.

Finally, the company’s auditor, Hanin Abdullah, presented her experience as a new graduate of Birzeit University, currently employed at Deloitte.
