Capacity Building of Environmental Quality Authority Staff

On 14 May
2012, the Center for Continuing Education (CCE) at BZU launched a training program titled "Capacity
Building of the Environmental Quality Authority (EQA)
Staff.” This program is implemented in partnership with the Environmental
Quality Authority and the United Nations Development Programmed
(UNDP.)

Chairman of the EQA, Dr. Yousef Abu
Safia, discussed the importance of
environmental development and the role
of citizens and institutions in maintaining
environmental quality through awareness,
education and a sense of responsibility.

Team Leader of Natural Capital
and Environment at the UNDP, Rima Abu Middain, addressed the importance of teamwork and
team building in terms of work
advancement and achievements. She thanked the Swedish Representative Office for supporting
this program.

Rania Al-Qasem, Diploma Officer at
the CCE, emphasized the CCE’s role in human resources development through
partnerships with national institutions. She stressed the importance of using an
applied participatory approach in the training programs designed and
implemented by the CCE.

The training ran for two hours, with 60 EQA staff members trained on the concept and
importance of teamwork and team
building by CCE trainer, Riyad
Mustafa.
