BZU Honors Johar Family for Contribution to Support Students

On 16 February 2012, BZU honored Ali and
Hatem Johar for their contribution to support students. The event was attended by
BZU President, Dr. Khalil Hindi; Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Adnan
Yahya; Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Dr. Adel Zagha;
Acting Dean of Student Affairs, Mohammed Al-Ahmed; and Deputy Director of
Public Relations, Lubna Abdel-Hadi.

The attendees emphasized the
importance of the relationship between BZU and the donors in supporting the
academic development of the university.

The Johar family’s grant has provided
a number of students in financial need with support since the second semester of
2005. The Financial Aid Office at the Deanship of Student Affairs prepares a
list of students, and the donors select five students.  The grant covers student tuition fees of 500 USD
per semester and continues through the students’ graduation, provided that the student
maintains a minimum average of 70%.

Dr. Hindi expressed his gratitude to
the Johar family and discussed ways of extending support to BZU, calling on
donors to support BZU and its students.

Ali Johar applauded BZU’s role in
building Palestinian society, through the provision of qualified students. He
highlighted the role of business people in community service, concluding that
his family’s support to BZU is a national commitment.

Dr. Hindi presented a special
commemorative plaque, while the Public Relations Office screened a film about
BZU’s history and facilities.
