Birzeit University's Team Excels the Global Entrepreneurship Bootcamp in Paris
Birzeit University's team, consisting of students Mohammed Abu Shamma and Mohammed Tmaizi, achieved a remarkable achievement by winning the title of “Best Team” at the Global Entrepreneurship Bootcamp 2024. The win came for their innovative project “HRing”, an advanced artificial intelligence tool for evaluating job candidates through virtual interviews. The event was held at the Sorbonne University in Paris from October 21-24, 2024, with 10 teams from international universities participating.
The 2024 Global Entrepreneurship Bootcamp saw the participation of three teams from Birzeit University:
- The first team: Yazan Hakawati and Jamal Shehadeh from the Bachelor of Electrical Engineering program.
- Second team: Nour Omari and Hala Sabouba from the Bachelor of Computer Engineering program.
- Third team: Mohammed Abu Shamma from the Bachelor of Computer Engineering program and Mohammed Al-Tmaizi from the Bachelor of Computer Science program.
The Dean of the College of Engineering and Technology, Dr. Ahmed Alsadeh, congratulated the participating students and winners, noting that this participation and achievement reflect the excellence of the college's students and their ability to compete strongly and represent the university in the best way in international forums. Dr. George Yerousis, Director of the Innovation & Development Unit at Birzeit University, expressed his pride in the exceptional performance of Birzeit students in international competitions, emphasizing the importance of these successes in enhancing the university's reputation and highlighting its capabilities in the fields of innovation and entrepreneurship.
