Birzeit University Welcomes The New Academics

The Vice President's Office for Academic Affairs organized a welcome meeting for new academics to welcome them and inform them of their responsibilities and tasks within the University on Saturday, October 12, 2024. The meeting was attended by the Vice-Chancellor of the University for Academic Affairs, Dr. Asem Khalil, together with the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs for Bachelor's Programs, Dr. Refa' Al-Ramahi, Director of Registration and Admission, Dr. Hazem Abu Sara, and several deans of colleges.

Dr Khalil gave a welcoming speech in which he emphasized the vital role of new teachers in promoting the University's vision of excellence and leadership, stressing the importance of cooperation and integration with their colleagues to achieve common academic goals.

The meeting included an explanation on academic instructions provided by Dr. Abu Sara, introducing the Human Resources Unit (HR), presented by Nidal Bayatena, along with a detailed presentation on the Ritaj system by Dr. Rashid Sabri and Mohammad Abbas from the Computer Center, explaining how it is used to communicate with students and access the university's systems and instructions. Dr. Islah Jad and PhD candidate Muntaha Abed presented by the Social Justice Observatory and highlighted its activities, touching on the code of conduct and the importance of adherence to it.

The meeting saw the announcement of the planned trainings by the Academic Development and Digitization Unit, which aims to refine new academics' pedagogical and technical skills, thereby enhancing their efficiency in the educational process.

The meeting concluded with gift-giving and a group photo documenting the occasion, in an environment that reflects the University's commitment to providing a stimulating and supportive space which fosters a spirit of cooperation and contributes to the achievement of educational goals and academic ambitions.
