Birzeit University Takes the Lead in Annual "IEEEXTREME" Competition

Birzeit University won first place among Palestinian competitors, second place among Arab competitors and 65th internationally in the annual "IEEEXTREME" competition, held by the world’s largest professional association for the advancement of technology "IEEE," based in the United States.
IEEEXtreme is a global challenge in which teams of IEEE Student members, supported by an IEEE Student Branch, advised and proctored by an IEEE member; compete in a 24-hour time span against each other to solve a set of programming problems.
The participants in this competition are students of Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering at hundreds of universities around the world. The number of the participating teams has reached 2,300.
Five Birzeit University teams of three students participated in the competition and each team worked collectively to answer the questions sent by the IEEE organization.
Several other Palestinian universities participated in the competition but did not succeed in achieving competitive results.
