Birzeit University participates in conference on digital transformations in economics, law and media

Birzeit University participated in a conference titled “Business Organization Trends in Light of Digital Transformation: Economic, Legal and Media.” Organized by Zarqa University, the conference took place March 8-10, 2023.

More than 150  researchers from 15 Arab and international countries participated in the conference. Birzeit University participants included Dr. Grace Khoury, dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics; Dr. Samah Abu Assab and Dr. Rania Jaber, assistant professors of the Faculty of Business and Economics; Maisa Burbar, lecturer at the Department of Business Administration; Anwar Abu Afifeh, engineer at Jawwal Company and alumna of the Executive Master of Business Administration program; and Ibrahim Abu-Elbeh, risk manager at the Arab Bank and alumnus of the Executive Master of Business Administration program.

The conference is the result of collaboration agreement between the Faculty of Business and Economics at Birzeit University and Zarqa University. It deals with modern economic, legal, media and digital challenges faced by business organizations in interdisciplinary fields, including digital economy, digital marketing, digital management, information technology, digital law, digital media, digital accounting, digital finance and sustainability.

Dr. Khoury chaired a session on digital finance, while Dr. Abu Assab chaired a session on digital marketing. As for Dr. Jaber, she chaired an online session and presented a paper in collaboration with Burbar under the title “Digital Transformation: Ramallah Municipality.” Dr. Abu Assab and Abu Afifeh presented their paper “Big Data in the Telecommunication Sector in Palestine: Challenges and Opportunities.” Abu-Elbeh presented his paper “E-Commerce and Digital Currencies: Risk Management Challenges.”
