Birzeit University celebrates the Launch of Awaited “Government and Local Governance” Program

The Faculty of Law and Public Administration at Birzeit University celebrated on May 23, 2017 the launching of a Master’s Program in “Government and Local Governance”. The event was attended by representatives of the government and private institutions, civil society, and the European Union.

The Dean of the Faculty of Law and Public Administration Yasser Amouri identified in his welcoming remarks the philosophy of the program, its courses and vision. He explained that this new program would foster future national leaders and builds up comprehensive contributions to the development of our country.

The Chairman of the General Personnel Council (GPC) Mousa Abu Zaid reaffirmed the intertwined relationship between the program and the public sector’s institutions. He emphasized on the importance of investing in the Palestinian human capital as an essential resource for the State of Palestine.

Mohammad Al Alami, representing the International Engineering Consultants, said that through delivering smarter, intelligent and influential environments, we would able to satisfy the needs of our communities.

The new master’s program in Government and Local Governance will provide the public and private sector with an advanced body of knowledge and skills to implement comprehensive national strategies that reform local entities and achieve sustainable development.
