Birzeit University and Kirresh Automobile Company To Develop Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics

Birzeit University and Kirresh International Automobile Company, in collaboration with Chevrolet, will be working together to support and train students of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics.
The signing ceremony for the agreement was attended by President Khalil Hindi, Vice President for Academic Affairs Henry Giacaman, Faculty of Engineering Dean Afif Hasan, Chevrolet representative Kevin Boyce and Chairperson of the Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics Department Ibrahim Hammad.
University President Hindi said he valued the social responsibility undertaken by Kirresh Company, saying that this agreement aims to disseminate and transfer knowledge in the field of auto mechanics and to build students’ capacities in the field of car maintenance in Palestine.
Kirresh Company Chairman Adnan Kirresh said that the cooperation aims to empower students of Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics as they enter the field. "Through this initiative,” he said, “students will be able to practice in the mechanical engineering field, along with the academic study period.”
Dean Hasan said that the agreement aims to link the academic and applied aspects of mechanical engineering and Mechatronics, especially since this field is constantly developing and students must practice what they learn at university.
