Birzeit Students Represent Palestine at RCOY MENA 2024 Regional Youth Conference
Students of the Department of Computer Science of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology at Birzeit represented Palestine at the Regional Youth Conference RCOY MENA 2024 in Amman, Jordan.
The team included: Yuna Nawahda, Abdullah Odeh, and Mahdi Shoman. Their Green Echo Hackathon project was one of the best projects at the conference, among the projects that solved the food productivity problem in the Middle East region.
The conference aims to contribute to international discussions on climate action, youth empowerment, strengthening regional unity, facilitating the exchange of ideas, highlighting youth-led innovations, and enhancing Jordan's role as a hub for effective youth participation in climate resilience. It includes various activities such as debates, workshops, competitions, keynote speeches, art exhibitions, and cultural performances; targeting some 300 participants from youth, indigenous peoples, refugees, host communities, high-level officials, climate experts, civil society leaders, NGOs, climate activists, students and from across the region.
