Birzeit to Strengthen Cooperation with French University in Humanities Studies

A delegation from Paul Valéry University- Montpellier III, headed by the university's president Dr. Patrick Gilli met on December 19, 2016 with Birzeit University President Prof. Abdellatif  Abuhijleh, and a number of the university's academics.

Birzeit University's Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Henry Giacaman, External Academic Relations Officer Dr. Amir Khalil, and the Assistant to the Dean of Arts Dr. Basma Omari, in addition to French professors Dr. Sylvie Blétry and Dr. Maxime Del Fiol attended the meeting.

Both parties discussed prospects to strengthen academic cooperation in faculty exchange, research and academia. The cooperation will focus on the humanities arena, including the English Language and Literature,  French Language, History and Archeology, Geography, Law and Public Administration, and in the Birzeit's Palestine and Arabic Studies Program (PAS).

Abuhijleh pointed out that the university strives to become a multilateral academic platform for cooperation, the development of long-lasting partnerships, and innovation in higher education.

Gilli reaffirmed the university's commitment to participate in international study and research partnerships that build understanding among peoples, develop global citizens and leaders, and contribute to the development of nations.
