Birzeit Nights Festival 2013

The Birzeit University Student Affairs Deanship revived the 3rd Birzeit Nights Festival for two consecutive nights of 19-20 June 2013. The festival included a variety of songs and folk dances performed by three Palestinian groups: Naqsh, Roots “Juthour” and Asayel.
The first night of the festival was attended by the university President Dr. Khalil Hindi and his deputies, Governor of Ramallah and Bireh Laila Ghannam as representative of President Mahmoud Abbas, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Rula Maa’yah, Dean of Student Affairs Mohammed Al-Ahmed and a number of high ranking officials.
In his opening remarks, Al-Ahmad said: "This event seeks to revive the artistic and cultural heritage on one hand, and to provide financial support to the Needy Students’ Fund on the other hand.”
During the 2nd night and via-videoconferencing, the singer Ahmad Qaabour in Lebanon presented two songs. On this occasion, Qaabour said: 'I wished to directly join all of you in order to feel the warmth of Palestine and the Palestinians.”
The event was sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Bank of Palestine, United Auto Trade Company, Birzeit Pharmaceutical Company, Golden Wheat Mills, Bisan Center for Research and Development and Al;-Muhtaseb Household Company, in addition to Palestine Television, Ajyal Radio Network and Maan News- all the sponsors were honored by Birzeit University.
