Birzeit Faculty Join Key Library and Science Organizations

Birzeit University library director Diana Sayej Nasir became a member of an advisory board of the Association of Librarians and Archivists that supports Palestine named Librarians and Archivists with Palestine as of June 1, 2014.

Moreover, the president of the Federation of University Libraries in Tunisia, Ahmed Alkseeby, requested that Sayej carry out a consultancy for the federation in information technology and online subscriptions.

Also, Khalid Talahmeh from the Law Department in the Faculty of Law and Public Administration was invited to become a member of the German Young Academy of Sciences and Humanities. Talahmeh has been awarded a fellowship at Columbia University in the United States.

Talahmeh was nominated by Birzeit University’s Faculty of Law and Public Administration from among 320 candidates representing 22 countries to become one of the 26 Arab and German representatives of the academy.

The German Young Academy of Sciences and Humanities seeks to create a society of distinguished Arab and German researchers who are at an early stage in their academic professions. It also supports innovative projects in various areas of research, policies, sciences, and education via different disciplines of humanities and sciences.
