Birzeit Engineering Faculty Present Research at Two International Conferences

Birzeit engineering faculty recently presented their research at two international conferences, one in Beirut and the other here in Palestine.
Engineering Faculty Dean Afif Hasan participated in the 9th World Congress on Engineering Education held recently in Beirut. The conference was organized by the World Federation of Engineering Organizations – Committee on Education in Engineering, in cooperation with the Federation of Lebanese Engineers and the Federation of Arab Engineers.
The conference was held to discuss "The impact of globalization on engineering education." Dean Hasan presented a research paper that explored engineering education for sustainable development as it is done in Palestine.
Associate professor of electrical engineering Mohammed Kerrain participated in the 3rd International Conference on Energy and Environmental Protection in Sustainable Development held at Polytechnic University, in Hebron, Palestine. Professor Kerrain presented a paper entitled: "The effects of the engine fuel quality on the West Bank in Palestine."
Research for the paper was conducted alongside visiting professor Imad Khatib, said Kerrain. "The study concluded that most fuel properties meet international standards, with the exception of diesel fuel that needs more advanced tests to demonstrate diesel fuel problems."
Kerrain was a member of the conference organizing committee and also a member of the conference scientific committee.
