Artist delegation visits, explores Birzeit University Museum

A delegation from Dar al-Kalima University in Bethlehem visited Birzeit UniversityMuseum on June 18, 2022. The delegation was led by Faten Nastas, lecturer and director of visual arts programs at Dar al-Kalima University, and Giorgio Tavlaridis and Aris Petridis, international art and restoration experts.

The delegation learned of the museum’s special artistic and ethnographic collections and the conservation procedures it undertakes to maintain them.

Rana Barakat, director of the museum, explained to the delegation the museum’s program and defined its policies in managing its collections and curating new exhibitions.

The delegation’s visit is part of a workshop on the renovation and restoration of artwork, held at Dar-al Kalima. Ziyad Hajali, production unit supervisor at Birzeit University Museum, is participating in the workshop.

Birzeit University Museum was founded in 1997 as an open space offering art and ethnographic exhibitions and educational lectures.
