Arabic Language Day Celebrates ‘Great Living Language’

Birzeit University is celebrating world Arabic Language Day (WALD), which is observed annually on December 18 by the United Nations Education, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

Arabic Language Day marks the date in 1973 when Arabic officially became a working language of the United Nations. It aims to promote cultural understanding and encourage dialogue among people who speak different languages.

The Deanship of Students' Affairs at Birzeit University held several cultural events that showcase the history and richness of the language. Seminars and conferences highlight current developments and obstacles in Arabic literature through lectures, talks, and workshops.
