Academic Exchange Highlights: 2022-23 in Review
Birzeit University constantly attempts to develop its academic relationships with higher education institutions in the Arab region and the world to promote its status at the local, regional and international levels; develop academic partnerships; enhance academic exchange; and take part in international conferences. Birzeit University has established academic ties with many international universities through collaboration agreements and partnerships. It also participates in programs funded by the European Union, such as the Erasmus+ Programme.
Birzeit University’s Academic Exchange program is supervised by the External Academic Relations Office. It is a unique opportunity for students to learn about other cultures, improve their linguistic capacities and experience new teaching methodologies at partner universities. Moreover, it allows the university to strengthen its relationships with participating institutions and expand the university’s network with various countries.
In the Fall and Spring semesters of the 2022-23 academic year, fifty undergraduate and graduate students at Birzeit University participated in the academic exchange program, spending a semester at partner universities in Germany, Finland, Poland, Spain, Malta, Portugal, Slovakia, Belgium, Estonia, France, Norway and Turkey. Moreover, Birzeit University hosted 11 international students spanning different academic levels. As for the upcoming Fall Semester, twenty-four students at Birzeit University will participate in the exchange program and spend a semester at a European host university.
With regards to faculty members and staff, a total of one hundred and one employees participated in meetings and trainings at partner universities, whereas Birzeit University hosted 48 international faculty and staff from various European partner universities.
