19th Career Day Connects Companies and Students

The Birzeit University Faculty of Business and Economics organized on June 3, 2014 the Nineteenth Annual Career Day, hosting companies and potential employers to give faculty graduates an opportunity to explore job opportunities and facilitate their job hunt.

"Birzeit University pays special attention to its relationships with all national sectors,” President Khalil Hindi said in his opening address, “as the university must constantly interact with the community and work on developing it in order to facilitate students’ transition to working life."

Faculty dean Mohammed Nasr said, "This day is in line with the overall plan to bridge the gap between the academic and professional sectors."

Training and Employment Unit officer Shireen Basha said that her unit “is working hard to strengthen relationships with national institutions and companies, aiming to explore their needs and regularly follow-up on graduates. “

Organizers allocated a booth for each company in which employment interviews were conducted with graduating students.

The event was sponsored by Jawwal Mobile Company. Head of internal communications and personnel manager at Jawwal Nagham Abu Rumailah said that this sponsorship is part of the firm’s "corporate social responsibility towards the community, especially students."
