University museum joins Museum with No Frontiers, bolstering cooperation regionally and internationally

Birzeit University’s Museum is now part of the international Museum with No Frontiers (MWNF) foundation, bolstering the museum’s reach and enabling fruitful cooperation and exchange between staff and students at a regional and international level.

As part of MWNF, Birzeit University’s Museum will now be able to showcase the various unique and valuable objects in its collections, such as the traditional Palestinian costumes, amulets, and artworks by Palestinian and international artists, to a broader regional and international audience.

Dr. Nazmi Al Jubeh, director of Birzeit University’s Museum, emphasized the importance of establishing connections with regional and international partners, saying that joining MWNF will allow the museum to highlight artworks and artifacts virtually to be viewed and accessed by anyone interested in the rich Palestinian and Arab history.

Birzeit University’s Museum, Al Jubeh added, is an innovative art space that seeks to produce contemporary arts and promote its practice amongst the university community and across the Palestinian society at large through a multidisciplinary experimental approach. The museum, he noted, is home to a collection of over 2100 pieces, including the Traditional Palestinian Costumes Collection, the Tawfiq Canaan Talismans and Amulets Collection, and the  Artworks Collection.

Museum With No Frontiers is a collaborative program involving public and private partners from all over the world, showcasing artworks and artifacts from countries as diverse as Portugal, Turkey, Morocco, Tunisia, Spain, Jordan, and Palestine. Through its Virtual Museum and Exhibition Trails programs, the foundation showcases art, culture, and history from local perspectives and presents them as ambassadors of peoples and cultures.
