“Stories in the Gardens: Narratives of Selves and Others through Cultivated Plants in Palestine”

 

A public lecture by Cannelle Labuthie, a Ph.D. candidate in anthropology at the University of Paris – Paris VII Diderot,

Facilitated by Imad Sayrafi, a researcher at the Center for Development Studies, the lecture will discuss the history behind the diffusion and circulations of plants in Palestinian gardens, shining a light on the role of Palestinian vegetation as depositaries of plural narratives strongly rooted in the land, practices, and knowledge of the women and men who have grown local plant varieties in the occupied Palestinian territories.
