In this lecture, the third in the center’s ongoing series, Dr. Rapsomanikis will discuss the impact of markets on the development process, focusing on the State of Agricultural Commodity Markets Report 2020, which explores the role of trade and markets in growth and sustainable development and the emergence of global value chains in food and agriculture.

Dr. Rapsomanikis is editor of the State of Agricultural Commodity Markets Report 2020. He led the team which prepared the report. He has various research publications, and has contributed to several books focusing on the role of trade and markets in food security, agricultural development, and economic growth. He provides support to the G20 and G7 countries in their discussions on global agriculture and food security.

Dr. Nasr Abdul Karim, professor of finance and economics at the Arab American University in Ramallah, will facilitate the lecture.
