Endowment

Birzeit University launched in 2013 its endowment to secure a long-term financial sustainability that will cement our reputation as an entrepreneurial institution that is actively engaged in knowledge production and community engagement.

Our objective in the first phase is to secure $30 million in endowment capital by the end of the 2021. The second phase will be to grow the endowment to $100 million.

Birzeit's endowment is one of its most important financial assests as a perpetual source of support to its mission of teaching and learning, in addition to meeting to the university's emerging needs with  financial flexibility.

Through endowed giving, the university will be able to:

  • Channel funding to classroom enhancements; keep up with advances in lab equipment; provide technological upgrades; and empower our art, music, and athletics programs even better
  • Establish named and endowed chairs and professorships, by offering competitive salaries and professional development opportunities, thereby ensuring that Birzeit continues to recruit and retain outstanding faculty
  • Provide scholarships to students to pursue their dreams and receive an education that qualifies them for a professional career, helping them to fulfill themselves as individuals and assisting them in lifting their families out of poverty
