Fundamentals of building constructions, preparation works for building site, soil investigation and site preparation, delineating the building line and ground floor level, delineating the location and center lines for walls and foundations, excavation works, building components: foundation types, walls, partitions, floors, roofs, staircases, and building joints, effects of moisture and underground water on buildings, types of water proof interventions, sheathing and posting of buildings and structures, introduction to traditional building materials and techniques, insulation materials (heat, noise, moisture, etc.), interior finish materials and works, introduction to mechanical, sanitary and electrical works, practical applications for understanding and preparing working drawings for a medium-sized building. (Lecture 2 hours, Studio 3 hours).
